Trump Drops F-Bombs during Nevada Speech

Real estate mogul Donald Trump served up a profanity laced speech to Republican supporters in Las Vegas Thursday night, attacking American policies and continuing his effort to run for the GOP presidential nomination. At a reception at the Treasure Island Casino, Trump announced that he is not the typical candidate to run for president but is still serious about a bid for the White House. Trump, will decide by June whether to run for president, also critized the price of oil in his remarks.

"They (OPEC) want to go in and raise the price of oil because we have nobody in Washington that sits back and says you're not going to raise that f-ing price, you understand me?" Trump said.

He also boiled down the war in Iraq for conservatives:

"We build a school, we build a road. They blow up the road. They blow up the school. We build another school, we build another road, they blow them up," Trump said. "We build again, in the meantime we can't get a f-king school built in Brooklyn."

Nevada may have an influential role in shaping the race for the GOP presidential nomination.

Independent Groups backing up Obama's re-elect

Democrats with strong ties to Obama are unveiling a double-fisted fundraising push to counter an expected tidal wave of money from independent GOP-leaning groups in the 2012 battle for the White House. Organizers say the two groups launched Friday, Priorities USA and Priorities USA Action,  aim to raise a combined $100 million to defend the president from what they say will be a flood of attack ads from similar independent groups on the Republican side.
"This is an effort to level the playing field. Americans deserve an honest debate about job creation, the economy, national security and education. That debate will never happen if only right wing extremists are engaged on the battlefield," says Sean Sweeney, one of the two organization's senior strategists.

While Republican-leaning groups took the lead in last year's midterm contests, Democratic-leaning groups appear to be catching up this year, with the recent creation of organizations to help defend the party's Senate majority and to help try and recapture control of the House.

Obama visits Alabama Tornado Aftermath

President Barack Obama toured rubble-strewn Tuscaloosa neighborhoods on Friday, declaring the devastation brought by a series of powerful storms and tornadoes was beyond anything he had ever seen.

"We're going to do everything we can to help these communities rebuild," he said.

The storms killed at least 316 people in Six Southern States and left entire neighborhoods in ruins. Obama promised expedited federal aid to states affected by the tornadoes. Obama's motorcade passed street after street of homes reduced to splinters, crushed and flipped cars and widespread debris on the way to his first stop to visit with families affected by the storms, which pounded the region Wednesday and Thursday.

"I've gotta say I've never seen devastation like this," he told reporters.

In that period, 148 tornadoes were reported in 13 states, and 330 people died. States affected were Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

Obama Collects the Big $$ in NYC

On Wednesday, September 27th, 2011, Obama headed to New York City to headline three fundraisers.
The first gathering is a dinner at the home of Jon Corzine, the former governor and senator from New Jersey. The second event is a dinner at the Waldorf Astoria hotel. A Democratic source with knowledge of the events says there will be approximately 400 people at the first two events. After the two dinners, the president heads to the Town Hall, a theater hall in midtown Manhattan. Approximately 1,300 guests are expected to attend the third event, with The Roots, a hip hop/neo soul band, performing.

"The events are designed to include the broad range of the president's supporters with tickets starting at $44 and ranging to the legal maximum limit of $35,800," the source tells CNN.

All of the money raised is expected to be contributed to the Obama Victory Fund, which is split between the presidents re-election compaign and the Democratic National Committee. These event bring to an end the President's first round of headlining fundraisers. Obama announced on April 4th that he was setting up his re-eleciton campaign.

Now They Want His Academic Records?

Early this week, President Obama felt obligated to hold a conference to present his true birth certificate and put an end to this "birther claim" that has been resurrected by Donald Trump, however, it doesn't end there. In a press conference on Wednesday, Donald Trump now wants President Obama to release his academic records. Standing on a tarmac Wednesday in New Hampshire, Trump said "word is he (Obama) wasn't a very good student."
Several Americans, including myself, believe all of this slander is just plain nonsense. He is the President of the United States and very intelligent man, this should not even be a debate. Many others believes all of Trump's comments and suggestions recently are coded racism. President Obama should ignore this uproar in the media regarding Donald Trump that is idiotic and deal with our economic stability and international affairs.

Trump May Be DONE!

"CNN did a poll recently where President Obama and I are statistically tied," Trump told reporters Wednesday morning upon arriving in New Hampshire. "If you would like, I can send it to you. Call up CNN."

CNN has claimed they never even conducted such a poll! CNN has not conducted any hypothetical Obama-Trump general election matchup polls. But earlier this month CNN conducted a survey which indicated that Trump was tied with Huckabee for first place in the battle for the GOP presidential nomination, among Republican and independent voters who lean Republican.
Trump's unreliable information and sources continue to weaken his political campaign. As he continues his Trump towards presidency, he only seems to be losing followers and embarrassing himself in the media. His recent speeches have merely been attacks against Obama's birth certificate and college transcripts. I have heard very little about Trump's policies and decisions as a political candidate. So I think America really wants to know one thing. Why should we vote for you?

Truth Behind Trump's Remarks

In a recent interview with James Carville, a respected CNN political strategist, Republican candidate Donald Trump claimed all of his attacks against Obama's birth certificate claim were to simply get Obama to do one thing, show us his real birth certificate. During his news conference this morning he gained a lot of much needed political grounds on issues such as China and Serbia. However, this little "Trump Trick" has only proved that Donald Trump is not a suitable candidate for any political party.
Although the president did appear personally to present his birth certificate to the American public, the scheme had to be the most idiotic issue in the history of politics. Amongst the multitude of serious issues facing our economy coming out of a recession, it is absurd that the Administration had to even take time to deal with this matter. This little hoax proves two things: Donald Trump is a joke for candidacy and people focus to much of there time of unimportant political media.

Haley Barbour Has Officially Dropped Out of the 2012 Presidential Race

Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour announced on Monday that he will not run for president in 2012.

"I will not be a candidate for president next year," Barbour, a Republican, said in a statement. "This has been a difficult, personal decision, and I am very grateful to my family for their total support of my going forward, had that been what I decided."

Barbour has decided that he would continue to serve as governor of Mississippi and work to elect the new Republican president of 2012. Barbour, very popular with Washington insiders, had trouble gaining traction in recent polls. This eliminates one name from the many Republican candidates running against President Barack Obama's re-election. Even though Barbour may have been strong with his political views, his election to presidency would have made him the voice of the American people which is the most important aspect of the demanding position.

Whats Really Weakening Our Economy

A recent forecast from the International Monetary Fund predicted China's economy will surpass the U.S. in 5 years! Cheap labor in economies like China and recent financial have weakened the U.S. economy, but has the U.S. Federal Reserve played a role?
A senior economics writer for the Wall Street Journal stated, "One of the fundamental problems with the U.S. economy right now is the Federal Reserve thinks the answer to all our economic problems is printing money."
Printing money may increase the supply of money but it also lowers the value of anything being purchased. It can also devalue the currency as a dollar is worth 11 cents less against the euro today than it did a year ago. While that makes the export of U.S. goods cheaper abroad and helps the country's trade imbalance, it also makes foreign goods such as cars and oil, more expensive. Although this is not the only matter effecting the stability of our economy, it is an issue that needs to be met with great attention and watched closely.

Is Donald Trump A Bogus Presidential Candidate?

As the 2012 presidential race draws closer many skeptics believe Donald John Trump is merely a "joke" and should not be running for president. For starters, Donald Trump is a business mogul and recent polls believe his superior business talents will "magically" solve problems and save Americans from making hard choices. Put simply, politicians and business moguls have never seen eye-to-eye on any issues because where someone such as Donald Trump sees profit, a politician sees tax increases. The two ideas simply clash and cause major uproar.
Another issue, as I have discussed, is Donald Trumps bash on the legitimacy of President Obama's birth certificate. Many Americans, such as myself, believe this is coded racism as the birth certificate has been verified as a official by several Government sources. This claim has merely given Trump lots of support from skeptics and free media. Many Republicans believe there candidates are weak which gives Trump the edge in the Republican headline.
As the economy stabilizes I believe Obama has a very strong chance for re election. Obama has managed the recent financial crises well and as the economy improves it will only increase his chance for presidency in the next election. I believe this should be the most important thing on everyones mind when they are voting in the next election and not how many successful franchises Mr.Donald Trump has erected.

Deomcrats Raise Money From Birther Bill

Although the on going birther issue continues to surface the Democrats are looking to make some money off of it. The Democratic Governors Association sent an e-mail to supporters Thursday seeking contributions to "stop these senseless political games."
The DGA notes that Louisiana and Indiana legislatures are considering bills requiring all presidential candidates to show their birth certificates in order to appear on state wide ballots.

"No matter how many times it's disproven, Republicans still embrace the dangerous conspiracy theory that President Obama wasn't born in this country and is not eligible to hold office. It's just not true," the e-mail says. "But that hasn't stopped Republicans in numerous state legislatures from introducing 'birther' bills aimed specifically at undermining President Obama."

President Delivers Speech on Facebook

Today President Obama heads to California to hold a special Facebook "town hall" about the economy. The President will connect with Americans across the country to discuss the tough choices we must all make to put our economy on a more responsible fiscal path, while still investing in the innovation of the economy that makes America more competitive.
The event will be live streamed and questions will be taken over the web, so anyone can join. Facebook will be selecting questions to ask during the event and you can submit questions by posting on them on the Facebook's event wall.
I think it's great that President Obama is flexible enough to take time out of his schedule to hold this conference via Facebook. By interacting through a format such as Facebook I believe President Obama will be able to connect to a different generation of Americans through through social media. So tune in to The Presidential Facebook Town Hall today!

GOP not happy with its presidential candidates

As the Republican presidential primary race continues its slow march out of the gate, a new poll suggests likely GOP voters are significantly less satisfied with the potential field of contenders than they were four years ago. Less than 50 percent of Republicans give positive remarks about their political candidates! Many Republicans have shown interest in Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney being the only candidate favorable in double digits (16 percent). Behind Romney follows business mogul Donald Trump at 8%, who has only mentioned to having interest in the election but has yet to make a firm decision. Then followed by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, 6 percent and 5 percent respectively. Although this telephone survey is quite surprising it will only take time to see who runs for presidential candidate.

OBAMA attacks TRUMPed up claims

Obama recently tackled Donald Trump's concern and the road ahead for his re-election. Trump has raged over the legitimacy and other issues regarding Obama's birth while government sources have clarified his identity. Obama addressed these issues in a meeting with ABC stating that "he doesn't have horns." Even recent opinion research polls prove that 3 out of 4 think he was born in the country.
Obama admitting that "We have gone through two and half of the most challenging years we have seen since the great depression," but also points out the achievements in the White House. "We have been able to stabilize the financial system and allow the economy to grow again." President Obama continued to affirm how we have pulled the economy out of this recession and created millions of jobs in the last year. However, any skepticism regarding his birth certificate should be laid to rest due to several sources who seen the actual certificate with the original serial number.
In my opinion, Donald Trump is just trying to find a reason to cut down the competition in the election by revamping a dead, old superstition. Trump should focused on the substance of his actual campaign for perhaps a sophisticated plan for the financial system if he even wants a shot at the presidency. I believe Obama is a very smart man and has kept the economy very stable throughout the recession. Although I have my ups and downs about his political views, one cannot simply blame this man for the invisible hand of the economy. The economy works in a cycle and it is going to happen again and next time it could even more catastrophic.

Myth Lingers About President Obama's Citizenship

Reality host and perhaps a future political candidate for the U.S. presidency, Donald Trump, has been pushing the claim that Barack Obama was not born in the United States. This myth has haunted President Obama since he ran for office and skeptics have continued to debate his identity even to this day. The state of Hawaii released this copy of his birth certificate which documents the presidents birth August 4th, 1961. CNN and other sources have seen the document and verified that it is official.
Skeptics claim that there is no signature or raised seal on the live birth certificate. However, the group www.factcheck.com have reviewed the original certificate and found there is a stamp and a raised seal. Also, the announcement of Barack Obama's birth appeared in the Honolulu Advertiser on August 13th, 1961, and a day later in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. However, suspiciousion continues to cause debate over the validity of this information.
In my opinion, the document has clearly been reviewed by hundreds of administrations and organizations that have proven its authenticity. I think many of this these skeptics, including Mr.Donald Trump, are unwilling to accept the truth that a man of another race is in office. Do these people not realize that he is in the most important office in government and that the FBI, CIA, and other agencies didn't review every piece of documented evidence of his past? It seems ridiculous to me that people are still even considering the fact that he is not American when the document above proves the exact opposite.

Congress FINALLY Passes Budget Deal to Fund Government!

A budget deal was reached today, April 14th, 2011, which was a slightly revised version of the one that cleared last Thursday to avoid government shutdown. The budget plans to cut $38.5 billion and will fund the government until October (the end of the fiscal year). Although the bill passed 260-167, Fifty-nine Republicans voted against this bill. A lot of the disagreement and surfacing problems seem to come from what types of funds should be cut and whether laws on social issue would be attached to the bill.
As the bill has been sent to President Obama to sign it ends a three-month long turmoil that has been going on in Congress. Now that the government is funded Congress will begin discussing next year's budget and whether or not to raise the debt limit. President Obama has several ideas to stabilize the basic framework of Medicare but reduce costs, as well as increase those taxes for higher income earners as I mentioned.
In my opinion, the Republicans and Democrats have become so far apart from each other that it will seem impossible to reach an agreement in the future. Apparently the proposed Republican bill contained $62 billion cuts in current spending levels which was mostly from non-defense domestic spending. However, Democrats were so extremely liberal about reducing or cutting costs out of certain programs that the problem surfaced so long that 800,000 people nearly lost there jobs! I believe in order to restore peoples faith in the "elephant and jackass" their gonna need to see a bipartisanship that can argue there points but not to the point of economic destruction and job loss for the American people!

Make more money? Pay more taxes!

Today President Obama made it clear that if your making over $250,000 that you should be paying more taxes. Eric, who owns several restaurants in New York earning over a million a year, said, "If I really have to change my lifestyle because I'm being overly taxed, then I'm kind of doing something wrong to begin with." Other taxpayers believe that $250,000 just isn't what it was 10 years ago.
"Somebody close to me makes a bit over $250k a year with stock, etc., and paid $85k in taxes last year. Is that not enough? They have a decent lifestyle, but it's far from what most people would call 'wealthy,' " said Francois of Takoma, Washington. Obama's tough relationship with the business sector and the proposed increase taxes is going to go over well with the financial sector, many say. However, Warren Buffet, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, stated that people at the higher end should be paying more taxes because they have had it better than other. There continues to be an ongoing battle between people of different classes, on Facebook and other media, regarding who should be paying more taxes.
In my opinion, people making $250,000 a year should not have to pay more taxes, as they are probably shoveling out enough of their income for taxes. Although, it would benefit for government use in some ways it really does take a large amount of there earned income, which isn't right. If Obama is going to tax the rich he should raise the income level to $500,000 or greater. These consumers are living in extreme luxury and are in no way affected by any change in the economy and there are plenty of taxpayers in this tax bracket.

A Deal Was Reached!

A deal was reached to extend the deadline a week that will slash $2 billion in spending and housing programs. Lawmakers had to pass the one week bill because the larger compromise hadn't been settled yet. Although exact details are unclear, spending levels will be set at $38.5 billion lower than at the beginning at the year. However, this number includes $12 billion included in three prior short term funding resolutions.
Congressional staffers are now putting the finishing touches on the legislation, and details should be released late tonight.

Is the U.S. government going to shutdown in 2011?

The U.S. federal government shutdown looms as Barack Obama and John Boehner are locked in talks over budget cuts and Planned Parenthood. Both sides are reporting slow progress toward a deal to keep the government funded beyond midnight. Senate majority leader Harry Reid have agreed to $38 billion in cuts which is close to the Republican proposal and enough that a deal is in place on spending levels. However, John Boehner, House Speaker, said the size of spending cuts remains the key area of dispute.
Republican aides stated earlier today they were still $5 billion apart on spending, and that both money and riders are issues. However, Democrats deny these claims. Senate Democrats are said to be preparing their own short-term spending measure to keep the government fuctioning after fridays midnight deadline.
Mr.Boehner has urged President Obama to sign the Republicans short-term version of the spending bill. However, Democrats and President Obama deny the bill because it cuts funding for groups including Planned Parenthood. Harry Reid claimed he will not allow Republicans to restrict funding on women's health service and will find other measures for short-term funding.
The shutdown that looms would affect roughly 800,000 federal employees and could also halt economic recovery. Also, housing loans may cease to process as well as pay to U.S. soilders.
I believe that Democrats and Republicans need to put down their swords long enough to make a reasonable decision based on this evidence. We have not seen a government shutdown since 1995 and while this news comes at a time when our economy is recovering, could be potentially devestating. Although I am not aware of the meticulous details of these budget cuts it seems both parties should be able to come an agreement in order to provide short-term funding so our government can continue running.

Who cares about politics?

Politics is an interesting subject that most people are not fully aware of or believe it has nothing to do with them. This is false! Politics is an amazingly broad subject that encounters almost everything you do in one way or another.

I really became interested in politics my freshman year of college when I took my first political science class. Once I began reading about current issues and government legislation I wanted to voice my own thoughts on the subject. This is one of the great ideas about politics, if you understand an issue and have a solution or improvement, then express it!

So this blog is going to be focused on current American politics and some historical issues if they relate to the matter. You can also use this page to gain a deeper understanding of politics in general. If you have any questions related to the subject just post a comment. Otherwise, feel free to debate and say what you want! God Bless America!
